Our manufacturing capabilities include the processes and equipment required for fabrication of a wide range of filamentary composite superconductors, including LTS and HTS, as well as a variety of fiber and film insulation systems.
Wire sizes range from tenths of millimeters to several millimeters in round, rectangular and cabled formats. Filament sizes typically range from 5 μm and up, but our technology has produced nanometer scale metal fibers in composite form. Our experience includes a range of matrix materials (copper, copper-nickel, bronze, aluminum, silver) and a variety of superconducting alloys. Facilities include a clean room for billet assembly, state-of-the-art surface preparation techniques, and a wide variety of thermo-mechanical processing equipment.
An on site R&D group is focused on new materials and designs for the development of advanced performance composites aimed at the most demanding superconducting magnet applications.
