The winner of the 2005 Sir Martin Wood Prize is Dr.Tsuyoshi Kimura currently at Bell Laboratories, Lucent Technologies in the USA. Dr Kimura was presented with the prize at the 2005 Millennium Science Forum organized by Oxford Instruments and hosted by the British Ambassador, Mr. Graham Fry, at the British Embassy in Tokyo on Tuesday 15th November 2005. Dr Kimura presented a lecture on his work entitled "Materials design toward gigantic magnetoelectric response". Keynote speakers at the event included Professor Shoji Tanaka of ISTEC and Professor Laurence Eaves from Nottingham University in the UK.
