2009 Sir Martin Wood Prize Winner

The winner of the 2009 Sir Martin Wood Prize is Dr Yousoo Kim from The Surface Chemistry Laboratory, RIKEN in recognition for his research of the study of local electronic structure and electron-stimulated reaction of a single molecule at surface.  Dr Kim received his Ph.D from the University of Tokyo and is currently a Senior Research Scientist at The Surface Chemistry Laboratory , RIKEN.

The award was presented on 11th November 2009 at the British Embassy in Tokyo and following the prize ceremony at the Millennium Science Forum, Dr Kim gave a lecture on his research.  Guest speakers at the Millennium Science Forum were Professor Stephen Holloway, Executive Pro-Vice Chancellor, University of Liverpool and Professor Sukekatsu Ushioda, President, National Institute for Material Science (NIMS).
