Objective of the prize : To support and recognize excellent work produced by young researchers in North America.
Research Area : Employing Low temperatures and/or High Magnetic Fields.
Eligibility : Candidates should be producing work in research to a post doctoral level or equivalent (up to 7 years post PhD). Candidates can be of any nationality but research must have been predominantly conducted in a North American Institute. The work submitted for the Lee.Osheroff·Richardson Prize should be peer reviewed and preferably published.
Prize: The prize is awarded annually. The prize consists of a personal cheque for US $8,000 and the winner will receive a trophy and a commemorative certificate. The prize will also include support to present their research at a relevant conference of their choice.
Candidate’s Nominator: The candidate should be nominated by a recognized expert in the field.
Number of nominations: Each nominator may sponsor one applicant.
Nomination method: Please send the completed nomination form to the secretariat of the committee by the due date. Fill out all the details together with two copies of three key publications together with two referees whom the judging committee may contact.
Due date: 30th September of the year preceding the award year
Selection method: The Selection Committee reviews each applicant and selects the winner. The selection criteria to be used by the Committee is available on request.
