Magnets
Since superconducting wire was first manufactured in the 1960s, most wire has been used in superconducting magnets. These magnets have many purposes, including medical imaging, NMR spectroscopy, materials measurement systems, industrial processes, and high energy particle accelerators and detectors.
Oxford Instruments supplies a range of superconducting wires for magnet applications. Applications below about 10 tesla would typically use NbTi wire, while those above 10 tesla require NbSn wire. Choose a Magnet Sub-Application to view a list of potential wire products to serve your needs.
Oxford Instruments also supplies superconducting magnets for a range of physical science applications.
