Oxford Instruments Nanoscience offers an increasing range of Cryofree products now including dilution refrigerators, 3He systems, optical cryostats and superconducting magnets.
Cryofree family
Cryofree systems use mechanical devices(cryocoolers) to cool materials to cryogenic temperatures using helium gas as the working fluid instead of liquid nitrogen and helium
The same technology can be used to condense and maintain a small buffer of liquid helium for Minimum Condensed Volume (MCVTM) systems.
Advantages of using Cryofree products:
- Running costs are much lower as the only requirement is electrical power.
- Users are also spared the cost and complication of the infrastructure needed to store and distribute liquid cryogens as well as related Safety issues.
- Procedures to start up and operate the system are usually much simpler. This reduces the cost of training.
