Using configurable magnetic field
Since 1962 Oxford Instruments Superconductivity has built hundreds of magnets for customers all over the world.
In your search for the most suitable magnet for your requirements keep in mind 3 key specifications:
· The magnetic field. Superconducting magnets are available up to 20 tesla. Visit the page on the Integra product range.
· The homogeneity. This describes how much the field varies across the sample region. Magnets are available with homogeneity ranging from 1% to 0.000001% over a 10mm sphere.
· The stability. This is the variation of field with time.
The performance of a superconducting magnet may often be enhanced (by about 10%) by fitting the cryostat with a lambda point refrigerator. This lowers the temperature of the magnet to 2.2K and allows the superconducting wire to carry a larger current.
Superconducting magnets may be classified by geometry
· Split pairs
· Vector rotation magnets
Or by operational characteristics
· Static magnetic field
· AC magnetic field
· Modulated field
· Swept field
· Multi-axis operation
· Cryofree operation .
