EBSD Systems
Electron Backscatter Diffraction (EBSD) is a technique which allows crystallographic information to be obtained from samples in the scanning electron microscope (SEM).
In the last ten years, EBSD has become a well established technique for the SEM and obtaining crystallographic information from samples is now both routine and easy. Oxford Instruments NanoAnalysis has been involved with EBSD since the commercial inception of the technique and remains committed to the development and design of EBSD software and hardware.
In April 2005, Oxford Instruments purchased HKL Technology, at that time, the only company to focus exclusively on EBSD. HKL has a rich history in pioneering the EBSD technique and was responsible for a number of firsts, such as the rectangular screen Nordlys detector , and the ability to index all seven crystal systems.
