Responsibilities
Your primary objectives will be to own & take responsibility for the Master Production Schedule for Benchtop products in line with the Sales and Operations Plan. You will produce the production & buying plans & purchase materials/services in order to achieve on time delivery to our customers. You will process purchase order requirements adhering to the S&OP for the full range of products ensuring 100% on time delivery, optimum cost & quality, limiting financial exposure & excess stock. You will actively manage all purchasing & supply activities. You will maintain all data on the company MRP system in relation to supply of parts & production. You will produce & maintain the production planning & purchasing schedules & communicate as necessary. You will immediately highlight any issues that may affect on time delivery. You will manage & action updates to planning tools. You will manage, process & maintain work orders ensuring they reflect the MPS & Production Plans. You will liaise with group purchasing & share information with planners across the business.
Technical Skills
You will have held a similar role involving the management of the production planning and purchasing in a low to medium volume and sometimes complex product manufacturing environment. You will be fully conversant with ERP/MRP II systems. You will have intimate knowledge of MPS, S&OP and Production Plans. You will be a proven planner and negotiator and have a proven track record in the management of purchasing and supply activities. You will be competent in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite of applications. You will be familiar with Lean Manufacturing Best Practice and understand how the planning role relates to this.
