Responsibilities

Maintain compliance to the companies ISO 9001:2000 Quality accreditation. Develop and maintain systems to establish standards, performance indicators and corrective action for the products and activities within the business. Work with colleagues and customers to identify and quantify opportunities for improvement in the quality of products and services offered, and recommend approaches and necessary actions to deliver. Champion the quality standards within the management team and develop a communications strategy to improve awareness and ownership of quality issues across the company. Liaise and pro-actively co-operate with external quality standards bodies. Incorporate changes in legislation and advice into the quality management systems. Plan and manage the quality activity to agreed targets, budgets and timescales.

Technical Skills

Quality management experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment. A degree (or at least HNC) in Engineering, Quality Management or Manufacturing with a sound understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles. Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. CQI, IQA). Internal auditor qualified.

Personal Skills

Articulate and credible at management level with strong communication and influencing skills. Ability to manage complexity, ambiguity and conflicting priorities in cross-functional teams in a non-confrontational manner.
