Allows top loading of samples directly into the 3He/4He mixture in the mixing chamber.

Key features

  • The sample is in the 3He/4He mixture giving excellent thermal contact and high temperature stability
  • A range of top loading probes allows multi-techniques and multi-user access
  • The mixture does not have to be removed from the mixing chamber during a sample change so turnaround times are minimised
  • The non-metallic tail set makes it ideal for experiments involving field sweeps, that might otherwise induce eddy current heating, or sensitive resonance experiments such as NMR
  • Seamless integration with Oxford Instruments magnets

The KelvinoxTLM Components

The Insert consists of the basic cryogenic assembly. This attaches to a high power dilution unit capable of over 400mW cooling at 100mK and a base temperature 15mK. Finally, the top loading probe carries the sample; a range of probes is available with different experimental services.
