Microstat®N, Nitrogen cooled cryostat for microscopy.
A nitrogen cooled, vacuum loading continuous flow cryostat for measurements requiring:
- Small working distance
- 80 - 500K temperature range
- A compact, lightweight system for reflectance studies (one window) or transmission (two windows)
- Operation in any orientation
Used for microscope based spectroscopy measurements.
Operation
The Microstat®N works on a continuous flow principle using an oil-free pump to draw liquid nitrogen from a storage vessel along a transfer tube to the Microstat® heat exchanger. Temperature control is achieved by a combination of manual helium flow control and power dissipated in an electrical heater, regulated using a temperature controller.
Options
- Windows: A 0.5 mm thick, 10 mm optical access Spectrosil B quartz window is fitted as standard . However, a wide range of window materials are available on request. We also offer an option for a 25mm access diameter , 1.5mm thick
- Transmission experiments require an alternative bottom flange with a second window fitted and a transmission sample holder
- Temperature controller. Choose either a benchtop, single channel ITC601 or the more flexible single or 3 channel ITC503 (rack mounted)
