Oxford Instruments offers a number of simple and rapid measurements based on the MQC benchtop NMR analyser. This analysis has a number of applications throughout the agriculture and food industries and helps with safety, analysis and tracking. MQC is a low-cost NMR analyser designed for measurements of total oil or fat content in a variety of food raw materials or finished products.
The MQC NMR analyser offers important advantages over other laboratory analytical techniques Can be calibrated to cover a concentration range from 0.5 to 100 percent fat Requires infrequent recalibration Sample measurement time is short Minimal sample preparation necessary Non-destructive, facilitating repeatability measurements Primary calibration can be produced using a single fat sample Measures the entire sample, not just at the surface Insensitive to sample granularity and product additives No solvents are required MQC can increase sample throughput by between 2 and 3 times that of solvent extraction.
MQC provides accurate and precise measurement of oil or fat content, often taking only 20 seconds per sample. It does not require solvents, any other chemicals or elaborate sample preparation.
The MQC benchtop NMR analyser can even enable the replacement of a number of Soxhlet units. This significantly reduces the cost of and disposal of solvents, further reducing running costs.
