Nanotechnology Workshop

Oxford Instruments and IIT Bombay

November 6, 2015 from 9.15 AM to 5.30 PM (IST), IIT Bombay, Mumbai

Now in their 4th year, our technical workshops held across India have proved extremely popular, withprevious events in Bangalore, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata and Mohali. On 6th November, we will be holding the following two workshops at IIT Mumbai. Technical Posters will be on display.

There is no charge for these events, but prior booking is essential and places are limited.

Workshop 1 – Nanoscale Plasma Processing | Time: 09.15 am to 3.15 pm

This workshop will discuss developments and future trends in Plasma Processing. It is open to all those people working in industry and academia, with an interest in recent progress plus future trends in research and development, and the application of Plasma Processing.

Talks to include:

  • Introduction to general etch technology
  • Introduction to general deposition technology: ICP CVD, PECVD, ALD
  • Workshop: Graphene and 2D materials and their applications
  • Workshop: MEMS device manufacturing
  • Workshop: Wide band gap semiconductor devices
  • Meet the experts: Questions and close of Plasma Technology sessions

Workshop 2 – NanoScience Cryofree Research Tools | Time: 3.30 pm to 5.30 pm

This workshop will focus on new materials and device research – particularly in the fields of Quantum Information Processing (QIP) and Quantum Computing (QC) that has been enabled by the advances in Cryofree technology for dilution refrigerators and superconducting magnets. At both applied and fundamental levels, the new tool sets are providing researchers with powerful and easily accessible capabilities.

Talks to include:

The application relevance of the key Cryofree tool innovations, with examples drawn from their users’ research.
