OiService CT & MR Showcases Its Remote Monitoring Capabilities for MR Scanners at the RSNA Annual Meeting in Chicago
30 November 2013
OiService CT & MR, a service division of Oxford Instruments that specializes in providing after-market GE CT & MR maintenance services, equipment sales and parts will showcase its latest remote monitoring capabilites for MR systems at the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), December 1st - 5th, in Chicago.
Designed to continuously check helium levels, the remote monitoring offered by OiService CT & MR, allows technicians to remotely examine the health of an MR magnet cryo system directly through the customer's network. This innovative service solution can efficiently streamline routine preventative maintenance processes by allowing technicians to audit the system's coldhead, helium compressor and helium compressor chiller, as well as its helium usage, vessel pressure and compressor status on a real time basis - helping to avoid potential problems that can result in a sudden boil-off.
Keeping patients and personnel safe during MR scans is critical to everyone. Therefore, preventing a system from a potential helium loss, or equipment failure is essential to maximizing patient care and productivity. Consequently, due to the industry's increasing demand for liquid helium, which is currently facing shortages, the remote monitoring allows service technicians to minimize disruptions by proactively monitoring the environmental conditions of the system, and taking immediate preventative measures if necessary to avoid a coldhead, chiller or system failure.
"At OiService CT & MR, we are committed to minimizing the helium consumption on zero boil-off magnets," said Scott Simmons, Director of MRI Service of OiService CT & MR. By incorporating this innovative capability to their service plan, downtime is shortened considerably for the customer - resulting in better clinical workflow, and reduced maintenance costs.
